I am producing an illustration for a client and in the background I decided to put some characters fishing to give the whole picture more interest. As I was drawing and colouring these guys, Jim and Bob (Jim is on the left and Bob the right) I became a bit jealous of them. True. You see Jim and Bob have known each other for most of their lives, and every August they arrange to go fishing on Shimmer Lake. This usually involves a long weekend of fishing and drinking at Covies bar (which is a short stroll from the cabin they always rent). This weekend is part of who they are, when Bob lost his son in the first Iraq war they upped sticks to the cabin for a weekend of just being friends. They've cried in each others arms and laughed 'til they were sore. As I say, I'm a bit jealous.
I'm considering taking them out of the illustration now, I think they might deserve their own.
